3 Quick Tips to Deal with the Heat

air-conditioners

Temperatures are rising, and humidity is starting to make it really feel like summer. That means we’re going to be cranking our ACs up and running them pretty much daily. This stress can lead to a plethora of problems, from little repair needs to a full-on breakdown with an air conditioner that’s been suffering. Thankfully, there are some things we can do to mitigate those kinds of events.

Any HVAC company in Orlando, FL will tell you to call the pros for air conditioning maintenance, but not many of them will talk about some great tips for homeowners that they can do themselves to keep their houses cool and air conditioners in good shape.

Don’t believe us? Keep reading and take a look below at some of our tried and tested air conditioning tips for summer temperatures. Make sure you call our team if you run into problems with your air conditioner beyond what we’ve talked about.

Quick Cooling Tips

Staying cool is more of an art form than technical expertise, at least in our eyes. It takes creativity and some practice to get some of these tips down—so we implore you to contact our team if you have trouble with any of the following. Also, make sure that you get in touch with us if your air conditioner has any issues since that can be the biggest and most expensive problem standing in the way of you and your comfort.

Run Your Ceiling Fan

Ceiling fans exist in many of our homes, but many people conveniently forget about them as hot temperatures roll in. For some reason, people think they have to choose between their ceiling fan and their air conditioner for the best cooling output when they can work together to cool you down! By running your ceiling fan with your air conditioner, you get the cool air from the AC while the fan helps circulate the air through your home so you can feel it more easily.

Change the Air Filter

Your air conditioner relies on the air filter within it to filter out bad particles that might damage the coils. By changing the air filter regularly, at least once every 1-3 months, you’re increasing the efficiency of your system and maximizing the cooling output. It’s time to get in the habit of changing your air filter!

Schedule AC Maintenance

Air conditioner maintenance is a service that we offer to extend the lifespan of your system and increase both its efficiency and efficacy. By making small, targeted adjustments to the interior of your system, we can bring it up to snuff and inspect the components to ensure it works well for the entire summer.

This isn’t just for air conditioners that are on the fritz—it’s a service that we recommend all homeowners take advantage of. By calling us and scheduling maintenance services, you’re ensuring a professional takes a good, long look at your system before giving you the go-ahead.

Call Gary Munson Heating & Air Conditioning if you need help with your struggling air conditioner this season. You will be more comfortable with the best!
